Corey Godfrey is a German-born artist who’s been based in Dallas for over 10 years. Driven by color, she has been creating and evolving her unique art over the last 15 years. Corey began her art education in painting and drawing at the University of North Texas.
It was there that she began experimentation in more 3-D mediums until she uncovered her true love: yarn. Corey’s work reflects the power and utilization of yarn, a material that is generally associated with women and traditional craft. Over the years, she has refined her art and continues to focus on revealing a certain vulnerability, angst, and sensuality in her works.
Joey Brock is a mixed-media visual artist whose work is anchored in abstract expressionism influenced by urban and natural landscapes, street art, and graphic, minimalist forms. Inspired by the events of daily life, he creates a playful narrative reflecting his perceptions, emotions, and visualizations of the modern world represented with a touch of sarcasm and whimsy.
Artist Ginger Fox was born and raised in the Panhandle region of West Texas and now works from her studio in Dallas, Texas. Primarily a self-taught artist, Fox started her professional career as a decorative artist working with designers on different projects in varying styles. In 2006, she decided to focus full-time on her fine art. With over 20 years of experience, Ginger is best known for her unconventional approach to painting in multiple styles. Through years of diligent work, she has gained proficiency in painting in styles from realism to minimalism to abstract expressionism.
“Communication or communicating is a theme in my work, especially in the collages. I use words, numbers, and symbols to give visual hints. Morse Code is an important element in many of my pieces. Morse Code’s geometric shapes add beauty to the work, but it is also a universal way of communicating and gives the viewer something to decipher. What I’m trying to convey in a collage may be encrypted or may be nonsense.”
Derek Nemunaitis is a Dallas-based artist who left the medical field to pursue art professionally in March of 2016. Within this short career, he has been hired to paint numerous murals around the metroplex. With oil paint as his preferred media, Derek’s work is often playful and whimsical, while retaining the ability to send an important and deeper message to the viewer.
Kyle is perhaps most well-known for his playful typography and often colorful, always minimalist drawings. But his personal work lies in a category all its own. His quiet passion for creating art, both professionally and personally, is inspiring and has put his work in high demand in Dallas and around the country. Even his Instagram is expertly curated and draws a substantial following, giving fans and friends a glimpse into the preoccupations of this ubiquitous artist.
Hugo G. Urrutia is a multidisciplinary artist-designer, interested in the cross-pollination between art and architecture. His artwork challenges the notion of what constitutes a piece of art. A graduate and active member of the Architectural Association in the United Kingdom, Urrutia’s work creates a distinct spatiality located at the interstice of art and architecture. His work explores and uses technology for design and fabrication, with a sensitive and conscious reminder of the creativity of human endeavor.
Haylee Ryan is an Oak Cliff based figure painter. She has her BA in Studio Art with a concentration in painting from the University of Dallas. She has been intrigued with the human figure, in particular portraiture, since early education, selling her first portrait in 9th grade. She is proud to have studied under local and respected artist Kim Owens and to have apprenticed with artist Glenn Ness. Well-traveled and with a love of her own city, she has always been passionate about making beautiful art out of people that are typically overlooked or not considered otherwise.
